I have just had the most awesome experience!!! My nephew works at BMW...he like a delivery specialist or something. Anyways, he got me into the Performance Driving School at BMW. It is a two day driving class where you drive their new BMW's and push them to the extreme. They want to show you how the car can handle in extreme situations....and let me tell you, that car can handle! I'm not a BMW enthusiast so I dont' know all the numbers but it was a new one....like a 335 or something? They paired us up in cars and I drove with this lady from Florida who had just bought one about a month ago and her husband gave her the driving school for Christmas. We had two instructors who are former race car drivers and radios in the cars and they let us have at it. We did slaloms and high speed lane changes and panic braking and skid pads. The second day, I was so afraid we weren't going to get to drive because of the weather. (remember, this is South Carolina). There was a two hour delay on schools. All the other people in the class were from out of state so I knew they would be there so decided to drive on out. They just said, hey, we won't have to wet the roads down now! LOL Oh gosh, it was so fun. The only thing I couldn't get was the skid pad. It is really slick concrete which they wet down. You drive around this circle at 35mph without the traction control on. They you give it the gas and let off so your back end swings out and you have to correct it. I must have spun that car around at least 10 times. I got better at it the next day but it still wasn't easy.....but it was fun!! We drove their new V5 (?) series which is the SUV....took it on the off road course which we drove very slowly but I'm telling you, it scared the crap out of me!!! We were on two wheels part of time, leaning sideways. They want to show you how the SUV won't roll over. THen it has a down hill descent which you turn on and it will take you down a hill at 5mph....very safely. And this SUV isn't intended for off road use. Very safe car but still scared me pretty bad. Then we got to drive the sports cars. Only one of those had a shift and clutch which I liked very much. The other ones didn't have a clutch and had the shifts on little levers on the steering wheel. That was hard to get used to.I hope this is the link to their site. And if you made it this far in reading, bless you! LOL That was just such an awesome experience for me. I have never had a chance to do anything like that before so it was like a once in a lifetime opporunity. I immediately went to work the next day and told them I needed a raise...just enought for a BMW payment...didn't work though! LOL Anyways a huge shoutout to my nephew Jonathan!!! Thank you and you rock!!!
