Orlando
First of all, it takes FOREVER to upload pictures using blogspot....might have to download the picaso thingy again. Anyways, Orlando was fun but verrrrry tiring. When we weren't playing handbells, we were at Universal Studios. Supposedly, our hotel was right outside the entrance but of course it was like a 2 mile walk to the entrance...in the heat! Ugh!! It was a long ride there and back....12 hours on a church bus with teenagers is not very fun. I was chaperoning the girls. They behaved well. They had their own room and I told them they had to be in the room to stay by 12 (which is when the pool closed). I could hear them come in and slam the door! The only time they got in trouble was the first day of the handbell conference when they skipped a class. Al (the director got very mad at them (the boys and girls) and they had to go to classes with him after that. After the fact, I found out the girls went to see some boys they had met at the pool who were leaving that day. They don't know I know that but I saw the pictures. But they were nice boys so it was no problem. I spent a lot of time talking to them at the pool the night before too. So we got there Wednesday. Thursday morning was Universal and then back to set up bells, rehearsal and a concert. Friday was practice and classes during the day and then Universal that night. Saturday was all day bell practice/classes and then dinner they provided and an awesome solo handbell ringing. Sunday was practice then the performance and then off to Universal again. I was so beat that I didn't go to Universal....stayed in the room and ordered room service. Then I found out they drove the bus to Universal so I would have went....oh well. Bright and early Monday morning on bus for 12 hours when a detour through Summerville to drop Amanda off at camp. and FINALLY home!! I was wiped out. Sara.... I didn't have any of your phone numbers with me and I wasn't sure if I would have enough free time for it to be worth it for you to travel all the way to Orlando. Turns out Sunday would have been a great time. I'm sorry. Her are a couple of pics. For the performance, we had these "cool" tshirts that said I Love Handbells on the front and our church name on the back. First pic is my MIL (with the glasses) and Norma. The girls weren't too thrilled with the tshirts....scroll on down....the boys were even less thrilled! LOL Needless to say, I can see why we only do these trips every four years! I'll post pics of Universal later.
