not a very productive weekend
Well, I didn't get much accomplished this weekend. I woke up with a headache yesterday so didn't do much. Then took Claire to a birthday party for a little girl who used to live in the neighborhood. I sure am glad we went. The only kids there were Claire and the little girls cousin. Then it was one set of grandparents, her step-sister and her boyfriend and her Mom and Dad. It was kinda short notice though. Got up this morning and went to church. We had a guest preacher but he was good.....kinda funny. Then to my Mom's house for lunch. Brunswick stew....yummy!! And blah, it is raining so no pool. So today, I washed a few clothes and tried to box up some things for a yard sale in the distant future....probably September. But.....I need more boxes so I'm waiting to get some from work. On a fun note....hopefully Gina, Blake and Julia (and Wes?) are coming Saturday to spend the day at my mom's pool. Keeping my fingers crossed for sunshine!!!

random things about me
Well, I'm kinda bored so I'm just gonna list some random things and thoughts.....
1. I am a HUGE Tony Stewart fan (duh) and if he lived anywhere near me, I would probably be considered a stalker......I own all kinds of #20 paraphanalia. 2. When I am a grandmother, I want to be one just like my Mom is. She is always there for me and I know if I ever need her to keep my girls, she will...no matter what.3. I don't have many close friends that live close to me. (Am I antisocial?)4. I can't swim underwater.5. I have five tattoos and that is all I am going to get. My first one was flower around my ankle (ouch). My second one was a ying-yang heart on my back shoulder (which had to be added onto)...the heart represents me and Bobby, then I have chain with a little heart with same colors swirled together (for Erin) and another small heart with a chain with a "dancing bear" inside(for Claire Bear). I have a sun on my calf. I have a cross on the my other shoulder (Bobby drew the heart and the cross). And then I have a lower back tattoo which is my favorite.6. I have my belly button pierced and my cartilage pierced.7. I have worked at the same place for 16 years.8. I have been married for 19 years.9. I have lived in the same house for 17 years and will live here until the day I die.10. I want to be cremated when I die and I want Amanda and/or Jordan (from my youth group) to sing "Who Am I" by Casting Crowns at my funeral.11. We have a prayer group every morning before work which makes the day much better.12. Someone who I love very much has lost their faith and are no longer close to God and it breaks my heart. I pray and pray for them every night.13. I used to party way too much when I was younger.14. I was an Air Force brat growing up and we had to move every three years. I guess that is why I don't want to move now.15. I play handbells at church and I absolutely love it!16. A lot of the people I work with really get on my nerves!17. I love to read and read everynight before I go to bed. I probably read at least 4+ books a month. 18. I never polish my fingernails.19. I have a gap between my front teeth that I wish I had gotten fixed when I was younger but now feel that I would look weird if I got it fixed now.20. I don't like change. My husband calls me a creature of habit.21. I'm not the neatest person in the world....and the rest of my family are worse than me.22. I have a daughter who is starting 1st grade this year and one who is starting 10th grade. They will be going to the same school. :)23. My husband used to be an alcoholic but quit when I was pregnant with our first child (and I am very proud of him.)24. My husband is also on disability for paranoid schizophrenia and I am proud of him for being man enough to admit he had a problem and getting the help he needed. (It isn't always easy living with him though...part of the illness)25. I work with the Youth group at my church even though I don't really feel I'm qualified to, but no one else will do it. (I've been doing it for four years). when I told someone at church, that I didn't feel qualified, he told me that the youth know that they can count on you and will always be there for them so I am qualified. And they are all very special to me.26. My dad lost his right arm in a work related accident 18 years ago and he amazed me with how well he adjusted to that and got on with his life.27. My MIL lost a breast to cancer and had the most wonderful attitude about the whole thing. And she is doing great now!28. I worry because my two daughters now have a family history of breast cancer.29. I have never had a brand new car (only used).30. I lost one of my best friends to suicide and I can tell you that it is much harder on the ones that are left behind.31. I have read all the Harry Potter books twice (except the last one....still reading it for the first time.)32. I have read the Left Behind series twice.33. I have a laundry MOUNTAIN in my laundry room.34. I look at young people now...in their early 20's....and think "you just don't have a clue."35. It isn't always easy being a grown up.36. I love iced tea.....and it ain't iced tea if it ain't sweet.37. My mom makes the best hot tea ever.....with cream and sugar.38. My mom makes the best fried chicken ever and it is the only fried chicken I will eat.39. My mom cooks lunch every Sunday for me and my brothers and our families.40. My Mom is from England. She moved here when she was 18 years old and didn't get to go back to visit for about 15 years. Now she goes every year and they come to visit us here.41. I love my relatives from England. They are such a hoot and I wished they all lived here.42. I have two older brothers. My oldest brother has two daughters and a son and a granddaughter. My other brother has a son who is about six months younger than Claire.43. I wish my husband would help around the house, but he does transport the girls around.44. Only one of the electric windows on my car works and that is the back passenger one. I wish they still made regular roll up windows.45. I don't really care for material possesions.46. One of my pet peeves is people who feel like they have to have the best of everything and look down on me because I don't and I don't care too.47. My daughter goes to school with a lot of rich kids and I don't really fit in with their parents. But that is their problem, not mine.48. My oldest daughter is acolyting at wedding right now and that is why I have time to write all this boring stuff I'm sure you don't care to know.49. I love going to rock and roll concerts...especially metal...and I'm always hoarse when I leave....and exhausted.50. I used to headbang when I was younger and had long hair.51. Metallica is my all time favorite band.52. My mom loves to take pictures and always has doubles made for me.53. I prefer enjoying the moment instead of being behind a camera all the time but I do take more pictures now that I have a digital camera.52. I still have rolls of film from years ago that have never been developed and I have no idea what is on them.53. I don't particulary enjoy cooking.52. Orange is my favorite color.53. I'm addicted to Blistex....the tinted kind.
Well, I guess that is enough for now, huh? Bless you if you made it through the whole list!!

Well, I was tagged by Gina to list what is on my nightstand....ummm.....I don't really have one. Kinda have this huge headboard with a shelf on the back and lights....so, there is an alarm clock, a sound machine, various books and a pair of Bobbys shoes he doesnt want the dogs to chew up. Will that work?

how unusual!
Wow, I'm getting on during the week. Pretty odd for me. Erin is with a friend so I get my chance at the computer. But alas, I have nothing to write. My boring life. Erin has been working as a counselor at the Methodist Day Camp this week. I don't think she is enjoying it too much....she is actually having to work....and the kids don't mind real well....and she doesn't get paid for it. But hey, it does her good. Work has been really slow and boring lately. It seems like we have more and more people standing around and doing nothing. That irriates me so bad because I am always working. Oh well, when we get in our new building I won't have to see that anymore. I talked to my buddy Kisha this evening. I haven't talked to her in so long. I miss her. (we used to work together). She is such a sweetheart. Oh, I am reading the new Harry Potter book! Is anyone else reading it? I'm enjoying it. It is definitely on par with the other books! Well, I don't have much to say so I'm gonna go explore some blogs. :)

Another productive Saturday
Well, I've had another productive Saturday (half-way) cleaning around the house. I tackled the kitchen today. Looks good. But I didn't get to sweeping or mopping......or cleaning off the dreaded kitchen table and attacking the mountain of laundry. But I'm tired so I quit for the day. But I did pretty good....considering I would rather have spent my time lounging around the pool. Bobby and Claire have went to take Erin to party and then over to Grammy's for a few minutes so I'm taking advantage of a little quiet time. They don't start school until August 24. Claire is so excited to go to the "big" school. She went to kindergarten at a church school so this will be her first year in the big school as a first grader. I'm excited for her....and kinda sad too. My baby is growing up. Erin turns 15 next month so it will be time for driving. I told her that she has to make all A's and B's if she wants to keep her driving privileges. That didn't go over too well. She already make all A's and B's except for in German. She struggles with that....finished with a C. So now she has incentive! She switched from Spanish to German against our warning her not to so now she pays the price. Talk to you all soon. I'm gonna try to post some pics sometime soon.

The Tooth Fairy Pays a Visit
Claire finally lost her top tooth! Bless her heart, it has been loose for so long. It would wiggle all over the place but never come out. Bobby got to working with it on Wednesday night and finally got it out. It bled some but Claire said it didn't hurt. She is so proud!

Go Smoke!
Just had to get on real quick and say GOOOOOO TONY!! Another race won! That is three of the last four races. (He should have won in Chicago if he had just listened to me about the pit stop...guess he couldn't hear me through the TV). He has a new thing now that when he wins he climbs the flag tower to get the flag. The last time he did it, he said he was getting to fat. Today....well you could see he has a belly going! LOL He is still my man though! I'll be wearing my Tony Stewart scrubs to work tomorrow! Night all!

takin' a break
I'm taking a break from house cleaning. What a nice way to spend a Saturday....NOT!!! I've got the living room halfway decent. I need to clean out from under the couch and then vacuum. But alas, my dear husband is asleep on the couch (must be nice) so I'm at a stand still. My house is waaaay too small for all this junk. Gotta work on getting stuff together for a yard sale. Sometimes I feel so unappreciated by my family. But then I remember an old chinese proverb......he who expects no gratitude will never be disappointed. I was in the girls room trying to find all the Harry Potter books. Erin got the new one today but I have to wait for her to finish it so I thought I would read the others again while waiting. I found the last two but not the first three. I think I know one more place to look but once again my dear husband is in my way! LOL I just got out of the shower (yes, at 4pm in the afternoon) and feel refreshed so I thought I would blog while watching the Busch race out of the corner of my eye. And this stupid computer keeps throwing me popups which makes typing this thing difficult! Argh! Anyways, I think I'll tackle the girls room next Saturday.....one room a week....and try to make a pile of yard sale stuff. But where do you store it when you have no room??? I threw away a lot of Claire's stuff today.....happy meal toys, etc. (Don't tell her! LOL) I'm also dodging a phone call. I "supposed" to be on the altar guild at church which is in charge of the flowers on Sundays. Well, nobody told me that after the service, you have to deliver the flowers to where ever....people in nursing homes and stuff. Well, I'm sorry but I can't do that with two kids who are always starving when church is over. This lady wants me to do something after a wedding at the church today.....hoping she doesn't call. Altar guild is an old lady job and I don't want to do it. I have to find out who to tell I quit! LOL I do my share at the church.....I'm with the Youth every Sunday and at the other things they do and I help with VBS. I like my new pastor. He has a bit of a stutter, bless his heart, but not that bad. Maybe four times during a service. Tomorrow after church, I think I'll spend the afternoon at the pool and then watch the race.....no cleaning on Sunday for me! Sara.....how are you doing? I've been thinking about you a lot. Okay, enough rambling.....peace out!

Walterboro
Okay, got back from Orlando Monday evening and left Tuesday afternoon for Walterboro to visit Judy for Mitch's birthday. For anyone reading who doesn't know, Mitch was mine and my husband's best friend who killed himself a year and a half ago. We were the ones that found him and it has been very very hard on us (Mitch and my husband grew up together, went on family vacations together, and then we me and Bobby were married, Mitch would spend about every other weekend with us). Anyways, Mitch's birthday was June 29 so we went up to be with his wife and stepdaughter. When we got there, me and Judy went to the liquor store (her idea) and she spent about $100. I drank one drink the whole time I was there. She drank Tuesday night. Drank all day on Mitch's birthday (started with kholua sp?) in her coffee and switched to bloody mary's. then she started talking about how she wished she would die and how she could just kill herself right then....real bummer. I told her it was time for her to take a nap and after that, she was fine. Alcohol will do that to you. The next day, we went to Edisto Beach. Me and Claire were ready to go after about an hour. We don't like getting in the ocean and don't like sand.....we are pool girls! LOL So we left. Then me and Bobby went out to Mitch's grave and left some flowers. The rest of the time, I spent relaxing. I watched more movies while I was there than I have in the longest time. Watched Racing Stripes, Dodgeball, Diary of a Mad Black Woman, Hitch...and something else? Oh well, I'm getting tired of typing. I'll catch up on blogs soon (reading everyones) and get some more pics up. There is no place like home!!!!! I was so glad to go back to work! LOL

Orlando
First of all, it takes FOREVER to upload pictures using blogspot....might have to download the picaso thingy again. Anyways, Orlando was fun but verrrrry tiring. When we weren't playing handbells, we were at Universal Studios. Supposedly, our hotel was right outside the entrance but of course it was like a 2 mile walk to the entrance...in the heat! Ugh!! It was a long ride there and back....12 hours on a church bus with teenagers is not very fun. I was chaperoning the girls. They behaved well. They had their own room and I told them they had to be in the room to stay by 12 (which is when the pool closed). I could hear them come in and slam the door! The only time they got in trouble was the first day of the handbell conference when they skipped a class. Al (the director got very mad at them (the boys and girls) and they had to go to classes with him after that. After the fact, I found out the girls went to see some boys they had met at the pool who were leaving that day. They don't know I know that but I saw the pictures. But they were nice boys so it was no problem. I spent a lot of time talking to them at the pool the night before too. So we got there Wednesday. Thursday morning was Universal and then back to set up bells, rehearsal and a concert. Friday was practice and classes during the day and then Universal that night. Saturday was all day bell practice/classes and then dinner they provided and an awesome solo handbell ringing. Sunday was practice then the performance and then off to Universal again. I was so beat that I didn't go to Universal....stayed in the room and ordered room service. Then I found out they drove the bus to Universal so I would have went....oh well. Bright and early Monday morning on bus for 12 hours when a detour through Summerville to drop Amanda off at camp. and FINALLY home!! I was wiped out. Sara.... I didn't have any of your phone numbers with me and I wasn't sure if I would have enough free time for it to be worth it for you to travel all the way to Orlando. Turns out Sunday would have been a great time. I'm sorry. Her are a couple of pics. For the performance, we had these "cool" tshirts that said I Love Handbells on the front and our church name on the back. First pic is my MIL (with the glasses) and Norma. The girls weren't too thrilled with the tshirts....scroll on down....the boys were even less thrilled! LOL Needless to say, I can see why we only do these trips every four years! I'll post pics of Universal later.
